I visited the exhibit questioning the difference between designing and making, and to immerse myself in a vast repository of ‘designed objects’, to contrast my engagement with ‘artefacts’ from the V&A.
I returned with some more questions..
If Artefacts relate to objects of historical importance, are older versions of the Apple Logo artefacts? Are older apple products artefacts as well?
Can artefacts be machine made? Are 3D printed objects artefacts of the future?
Maker:
Is the craftsperson a maker? Is the artist a maker? Can the designer be a maker?
Do users make Design ‘Good’?
