Discussion on MA Progression pathway:
- Metals and jewellery- a good fit, however need to look at relation of objects with body
- MA M&J: highly conceptual, not necessarily wearable
- more fine art based: SOAH
- body links art and design
- with respect to avenues outside of course: try the ephermal and commercial in parallel: Gijs Bakker (conceptual)
Reflection:
Does it necessarily have to relate to the body?
Do installation artworks for any kind of site count as emotional design?
(To study: body expressions in relation to objects)
Discussion on Current Project:
- Enough material experimentation, try to make 2 final products of adornment (not sure i’m looking at adornment specifically)
- Move experimentation to the body as the site (again, not sure i want to body as the potential site, should explore more)
- understand what jewellery is, adornment and implications: sexuality, sentiment, memory, miniature paintings-logo, signal
- explore scale, attachment, relationship of object
- read precedents, study fine artists and jewellers (rather than product designers)
Reflection:
I should start to think about possible outcomes of my experimentation. Application options. Experiments with the body, studies on body and objects.
Complete and label past experiments for better comprehension and presentation (to make clear sense of what ive been doing, and how it relates to my understanding of this project, correlate with brief)
